His Nibs 2

Here's my cat Reginald again.  I hadn't planned to upload this, but comparing it to the bloody awful original photo, I find myself rather proud of the work I did here.  So here it is.

Single jpeg, white balance horribly out of whack, corrected in GIMP and Mantiuk tone mapping applied thereafter.  Still a bit of chromatic weirdness in his fur, but I kinda like it.

EDIT:  I decided I didn't like the chromatic weirdness after all.  Then I figured out the bloody obvious way to correct it.  Simply put, there is no difference between a colour photo of a black cat, and a black and white photo of a black cat.  So all I had to do was desaturate Reginald, and Robert is your father's closest male relative!
